Scope, the leading disability equality charity in the UK, has published a post I guest-wrote for them earlier this year.

To read the article, which is about the strain chronic illness places on your mental health, go here: Chronic Illness & Mental Health: An Inevitable Combination

It’s an absolute honour to write for such a well known charity and something I’ll be doing again for them later in the year.

In this piece, I write about how parenthood helped me realise that when my disease flared, my mental health suffered and the battle to change my mindset so that I saw asking for help as a strength rather than a weakness.

I plan to expand on this later in the year with a longread piece on this subject published on this website. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this sampler.
